When All Else Fails

Just like those that I train, I often times have a hard time getting myself motivated to do my workout. I’ve been at this for so long that you’d think it’s just ingrained in me right? For the most part yes, and it’s taken me a long time to get to that. I do the top two things that I suggest to clients.

– Set an alarm on my phone to go off when it’s time to workout.

– Have my workout clothes out or already on!

But some days I just don’t WANT to workout!

When my mind is being that stubborn, I take my socks and shoes off and get the mat out. Mobility work clears my mind, warms up my body, and gives me time to feel where imbalances maybe flaring up. Once I’m a couple minutes into it, I can feel a sense of ease set in and then I start to think about my workout and ACTUALLY begin to look forward to it.

Just a little something that I wanted to share with you all. You can do this before a workout, after a workout, and you can even do it after a long ride! Add this to your training tool box!
